May 2005 - "Evil Elvis" reaches new lows

 

The announcement of Louis Rockafellas 2005 tour with Elvis Presley's original backing singers The Sweet Inspirations, as expected unfortunately, has caused quite a stir with only a select few in the Elvis Impersonator world.

 

Steve Preston's 2 yr campaign of hate has now gone into overdrive. He has tried every trick in the book to stop the tour (and failed) !

 

The latest sick con is visiting message boards not only in UK but USA too, and leaving pathetic messages of apology, signed by Janet Fella, manager of Louis Rockafella. Impersonating Janet Fella reaches a new low.

We have NEVER apologised to Mr Preston and this new scheme just reafirms what we already know, as the Mirror stated "Evil"

 

Any sane Elvis fan, viewing comments and opinions publically displayed by Steve Preston on message boards and on Steve Prestons multiple web sites pages, can see for themselves the type of character he is, and the damage they are doing to the name and memory of Elvis.

 

The most disgusting part of it all is that Steve Preston is now personally attacking The Sweet Inspirations with direct comments in his frustration that all his attempts to try stop the tour did not succeed.

 To insult Elvis Presley's very own personal friends is the lowest of the low.

An Elvis Impersonator faces arrest for an internet harassment campaign on a rivel.

It began when a web site claimed Steve Preston, 50, was No.1 in the country's top ten Elvis acts.

 

Professional performer Louis Rockafella, 43, found bookings dried up after the site listed him under "amateur acts" and carried links to attacks on his singing and outfits.

He and wife Janet, 32, - his manager - discovered the "independant" site was Preston's work.

Louis of Ormskirk, Lancs, said: "The work has just disapeared. Our livelihood is at stake"

 

Preston was sent solicitors letters threatening to sue for defamation and malicious falsehood. He told Louis Lawyers he would remove the slurs and not repeat them.

But messages on a fans' site hinted Louis' web address was for sale and might be used for porn.

Preston sent Janet emails including a picture of her with a lizards head.

Preston of Haslingden, Lancs, refused to comment.

 

Police said "If undertakings are not given or the behaviour recurs, he will be placed under arrest."

Dear Mirror

First and foremost, I am an Elvis fan.  I am also a big fan of Louis Rockafella.  But, having read Rod Chaytor's Exclusive on the harassment campaign against Louis, I felt compelled to offer my full support to him and his wife, Janet.

 

I first saw Louis, almost 2 years ago, in Southport and many times since.  He has always given a 100% plus pure Elvis tribute.  In fact, I have never seen or heard better.  No matter how big or small the venue & whether it be a private function, charity event or stage show, Louis has always been a true professional. 

 

I feel sad to think what the King might say to all of this being done in his name.  I would like to congratulate Louis and Janet on the dignified manner they have held throughout.  I hope it will all be over soon and wish you both well for the future ~ There is no finer couple you could wish to meet.

 

There are many thousands of Elvis tributes around the world, each with there own style and supporters.  I have seen quite a few, myself, over the years.  But, none compare to The Spirit of Elvis ~ King of All Tributes.  Yes, you might say that I'm bias in my opinion ~ With good reason!

 

As Louis always says at his shows, and I quote: "Remember these words ~ 'There is only one Elvis'!"

Steve Preston, 50 from Haslingden spoke as it was revealed that he is at the centre of a police investigation into an alleged internet harassment campaign against fellow Elvis impersonator Louis Rockafella. Professional performer Louis said booking dried up after the site (www.elvis-impersonators.com) listed him under "amateur acts" and carried links to attacks on his singing and outfits.

Louis wife and manager Janet, 32 accused Steve of setting up the site to promote himself - an accusation which he denied although he admitted he did run Elvis websites. Steve said "I would challenge Louis to a head to head showdown anyday, but I wouldn't even compare myself to the likes of him"

Janet said" We are not interested in a showdown - we just want this to stop"

After receiving solicitors letters threatening court action for defamation and malicious falsehood, Mr Preston told Louis's lawyers he would remove all comments about Louis from his internet sites and not repeat them.

Louis said "There is plenty of work out there if you go looking for it"   "We do not go around bad mouthing people or attacking other Elvis tributes - It's not professional"

Janet has handed a 200 page dossier to the internet crime department of Lancashire Police. A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "The matter is being investigated. We are going to visit the victim to get a statement and will then go to Mr Preston with a view to giving him a warning relating to the alleged harassment allegations"

Louis is due to tour the UK from May this year with The Sweet Inspirations, Elvis own backing singers from 1969 until his death in 1977. The show called "The Spirit of Elvis & The Sweet Inspirations" will be at The King Georges Hall, Blackburn on May 28.

Steve will headline his own show at Waterfoot New Mill Burnley Rd East on Friday at 7.30pm.

To whom it may concern....

 

Fifteen months ago, October 2003 we were added to a website of Elvis impersonators, in an inappropriate section, we pointed out the mistake but the website owner refused to adjust it's content.  Our legal representatives were able to secure an agreement with the owner of the websites Mr Stephen Ljevar, (aka Elvis tribute act Steve Preston) concerned to no longer include any mention of us on his sites.

 

That agreement is shown below, signed and dated 19th July 2004

 

 

Mr Ljevar also purchased the domain name "louisrockafella.com", we believe that this was done in order to misrepresent our business to our customers and fan base.

 

Mr Ljevar, soon began adding derogatory and unfair remarks aimed towards us and an unfair and inaccurate review onto his website.  This was done in complete disregard for the agreement signed.  We responded by explaining to all concerned that there was no substance to Mr Ljevar's claims, we presented the reality of the situation on our website and attempted to negotiate circumstances whereby the untruths contained on his websites would be removed, as would the truth of his actions be removed from ours.

 

Just when we felt that we would be able to sensibly conclude these matters, Mr Ljevar decided instead to publish onto his website a falsified and rather groveling apology pertaining to be from us, which he himself had composed.  No such apology was ever made by us.  Mr Ljevar then proceeded to litter his website with many pages that included communications from us that he had edited to suit his own ends.

 

The situation has escalated in recent weeks, currentely 28 pages of malicious attacks displayed on Mr Ljevars web sites. This situation has reached a point where we felt that we were left with no option but to take the least preferred option of pursuing this continuing matter by legal processes.

 

Feb. 2005 - The 200+ page dossier has been been handed to the internet crime department of Lancashire Police. Police said"If undertakings are not given or the behaviour recurs, Steve Preston will be placed under arrest"

 

This process is now underway.

Message to ETA's

To all other ETA's ask yourself, would you accept the content of Steve Prestons sites if it were targetted at you ?  Feel free to compare the content of http://www.louisrockafella.co.uk/Case_file.htm with the many pages Steve Preston has posted in recent months.( A staggering 26 pages as of today 21 Feb 2005 )  The allegation that we are responsible for the bomb scare is false.  Ask yourself who is doing the attacking, who is responsible for a hate campaign.

We have offered a sensible solution, this offer wasn't taken.  The only other solution available to us is to now use the courts.  Continuous damage to our professional reputation by way of manipulated statements, false allegations and unsubstantiated claims is something we simply cannot accept, nobody else would accept this treatment either.  We reserve the right to defend ourselves, you would too.

 

To clarify, prior to these matters going to court, once the 7 points are satisfied that are in breach of the undertaking as signed by Steve Ljevar aka Steve Preston 19/07/04, we will remove http://www.louisrockafella.co.uk/Case_file.htm from our web presence and express no further interest in SP or his business.
