Roy Orbison Tribute Barry Steele

The ultimate Roy Orbison Tribute show "The Darkest Star"

Barry not only looks like Roy Orbison, he sounds like him too, His Roy Orbison Tribute Show "The Darkest Star" receives rave reviews wherever he goes as he effortlessly recreates the unique vocal talent of "Roy Orbison." A full member of Equity Barry places great emphasis on the sound quality and professionalism of his act, and as Carl Chinn stated on Radio WM 'listen to this man sing, is he close to the real thing or What!'

Barry is a seasoned performer available solo, or if required he is happy to be part of a show. Barry also has many contacts on the circuit and has worked on Rock and Roll shows and Cabaret events.

A naturally talented vocalist Barry was performing when a member of the audience came up to him and told him he sounded just like "Roy Orbison" At his next venue Barry performed Pretty Woman, the audience went wild, and as they say "The rest is History"

Barry has perfected his portrayal of "Roy Orbison" by studying copious amounts of archive footage and by listening to and researching the recorded media available. He is a perfectionist and his uncanny ability to effortlessly recreate the unique and soaring vocals of Roy Orbison, leaves both his audiences and fellow artistes spellbound .

Barry is married with three grown up children; he is based in the West Midlands where he has settled with his wife and manager Lynne after leaving the R.A.F. in 1988.

Due to high demand Barry is now a Professional Tribute Artist and takes immense pride in both the quality of his act and his superb reputation...

As Barry says ...

"Roy Orbison was one of the worlds Greatest singers, I have to do him Justice!!"

Buddy Holly Tribute Glenn Mitchell

The ultimate Buddy Holly Tribute show

Hi my name is Glenn and I portray my hero Buddy Holly who to me was the prince of Rock 'n' Roll. I have been a fan of Buddy's since a teenager and feel that Buddy was so ahead of his time, his recording techniques, song writing changes in musical direction and inovitive musical styles produced some legendary music, all this done in such a small space of time, what he would have gone on to achive would have been amazing, I hope you enjoy my performance as Buddy and hope that I can give you a taste of the vibrancy and sheer fun that Buddy projected on stage.

I  was born in Manchester England the third child of Six boy's and from an early age was surrounded by the sounds of the 50's and 60's music from my elder brothers who's Dansette record players were constantly on, providing a rich mixture of Elvis, Eddie Cochran and of course Buddy Holly, and Sixties music from  The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to name just a few of my early influences. I moved to North Wales with the family and continued my love of all things Rock 'n' Roll, joining various school bands. After leaving school I went on to study Nursing and passed as a State registered Nurse in 1983, working in a large Hospital on the Accident and Emergency unit and various other speciality nursing units. As well as my day job, the call of the stage was never far away and I continued to  perform with local bands. I

n 1989 I  joined a new band called 'The Centrepedes' the group were a Sixties cover band and all the members were part of a theatre group called Centre stage Theatre company, I was asked to join the company as an actor well and since then I have  appeared in a number of productions in local theatres such as musicals 'Sweeny Todd' 'The Little shop of Horror's' 'The Dracular Spectacular' and comic roles in stage versions of 'Ello Ello' and 'Are you being served'.

My theatre work lead me to me being spotted by a theatre and television agent and lead to myself working on tv shows like 'Coronation St' 'Liverpool One' childrens television shows 'Childrens Ward' BBC2 'Magic Grandad' and Two films for channel 4.   I left nursing to consentrate on the musical side of things and in  1992 formed a Beatles tribute band 'The Silver Beatles', myself portraying the John Lennon role, the band travelled the UK and played a number of times at Cavern club in Liverpool a highlight of the groups career. The band eventually went their separate ways, Paul McCartney left! And George went in to seculsion!, John and Ringo formed a duo, called 'Flashback', well myself and drummer Bob Green did!.

The duo using the lastest hi tech lighting and sound went on to be a very successfull duo working at major holiday venues throughout the UK for a number of years, highlights include support slots with original Sixties bands The Searchers, Gerry Marsden, The Undertakers, Seventies Euro popsters The Brotherhood of man and 80's fun duo Black Lace.

'Flashback' came to an end and I teamed up with my brother Jeff to present another tribute show this time spurned on by the success of the musical 'Buddy' in London an idea was developed to present a live concert version of what might have happened if Buddy Holly had not died so tragically in 1959 and gone on to tour the UK in the summer of 1959, the show called 'The Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party' went on to tour the uk featuring myself as Buddy Holly and brother Jeff as The Big Bopper with fellow actor Ian Williams as Billy Fury, after Two great years Ian left and Jeff and myself continued with a new show called 'The Big Buddy Show' in a duo format, the show was seen by a promoter over on holiday from Spain who invited me to go to Benidorm to perform my tribute to Buddy over in the sun, a hectic early summer working holiday was taken and new experiences gained  working long hours into the daylight!.

On my return from Spain our own summer season was under way and during this time I was contacted by Louis Rockafella who offered me the role of Buddy Holly in his extremlly successful touring show 'An American Trillogy'. Myself and brother Jeff teamed up with Louis to present an alternative version of the show featuring Elvis, Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper, a series of successfull shows followed and brings us up todate with the new and original format of the show featuring Elvis, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbision.

We all hope that our love for our hero's passes on to yourselves and we sure hope you too will enjoy the show, be sure to stop by after the show and say hello .."

Your Buddy.........Glenn
